Inclement Weather Notice: Triad Real Estate School follows the Forsyth Tech inclement weather closing schedule. If severe weather has been forecasted, check the Forsyth Tech website or you may call the main switchboard at 336.723.0371. As per the North Carolina Real Estate Commission, to maintain an Active license, a licensee must take 8 hours of continuing education each year. Provisional Brokers and non-BIC Brokers must take the General Update course plus one Commission-approved elective. BICs and BIC-Eligible Brokers must take the BICUP (Broker-in-Charge Update) course to maintain their BIC status/eligibility, plus one Commission-approved elective.
Note that a person who is issued a broker license (either by examination or reinstatement) does NOT have to take continuing education courses during the license period in which the license is issued. However, they must satisfy the CE requirement prior to the second renewal of the license.
Continuing education must be completed each annual license period between July 1 and June 10. The NCREC does not permit real estate schools to offer courses for CE credit between June 11 and June 30 of each year to allow time for schools to file reports with the Commission, and for the Commission to process such reports.
Triad Real Estate School, LLC offers continuing education beginning in the fall through June 10th.
About our CE Classes
Our continuing education courses are offered throughout the Triad in Winston Salem, Greensboro, and High Point. You may complete your 8-hour requirement in one day by taking the General Update in the morning and the elective in the afternoon. Or, you can split up the requirement into two days as your schedule allows. Our General Update and BICUP courses meet the NCREC’s CE requirement for licensed agents and BICs. We also offer a number of thought-provoking electives, including an NAR required Ethics course.
As per the NCREC, 4 elective credit hours may be carried forward to the next license period if no portion of the credit hours for the course were applied toward the CE requirement for the current license period.
Students must attend 90% of a CE course and comply with student participation standards in order to receive credit for the course. Therefore, if a student is more than 24 minutes late, he/she will not be permitted to take the course.
Fees for our continuing education classes range from $50 - $55, and include the course book.
Registration is open through the day of class depending on availability. We offer online and in- person registration. To register in person, come to 285 S. Stratford Rd, Winston-Salem, 27103 Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm. Acceptable forms of payment are checks, money orders, or credit cards (excluding American Express). To register online, continue below. Please take note of the location of the class you are registering for, as we hold CE classes at three different locations in the Triad.
